Everything You Need Besides the Machine
A fiber laser is the expensive part, not the whole part. Every machine on this site arrives able to mark a flat plate and nothing else. Below is what actually gets bought in the first month of ownership, why each one matters, and — where it applies — the reason to skip it.
How this list is chosen: every item is sold by ACMER or SculpFun, the two manufacturers whose programmes pay this site the most. That is a real bias and you should know about it. It also means these are parts built by the same people who built your machine, which is worth something on fitment. Prices checked August 2026 and they move — the button shows live pricing.
For your fiber / MOPA galvo machine
A galvo fiber laser arrives as a bare marking head on a stand. These are the four things that turn it into a working shop — in the order most owners end up buying them.
ACMER M4 4-in-1 Chuck Rotary
ACMER
$168 $239
The single accessory that pays for itself fastest. A chuck rotary is what lets you mark all the way around a tumbler, a ring or a pen. Without one you are limited to flat stock, which rules out the two highest-margin jobs in this trade.

SculpFun
$209.99 $259.99
The heavier alternative to the M4. Larger jaw range, so it holds fat 40oz tumblers and small stock equally well. Worth the extra forty dollars only if you already know you are doing drinkware in volume.

SculpFun
$429
Marking metal throws fine particulate, and colour-marking stainless throws more of it than plain engraving does. If your machine lives anywhere near where you live, this is not optional equipment — it is the difference between a workshop and a health problem.

ACMER
$79 $129
Contains smoke and stray reflection. Check the internal dimensions against your machine before ordering — this box was designed around ACMER's smaller units and a full-size galvo gantry will not fit inside it.
Check current priceFor a diode or IR machine (the ACMER P3 and similar)
These are the wrong accessories for a galvo fiber laser and the right ones for a gantry diode. Listed separately on purpose — buying a honeycomb bed for a fiber marker is the most common wasted hundred dollars in this hobby.
ACMER E10 Honeycomb Bed with Pins
ACMER
$35 $75
Lets the beam pass through the workpiece instead of scorching your table, and the pins hold warped stock flat. Only useful on a machine that cuts.
Check current priceACMER C4 Air Assist Pump
ACMER
$59 $129
Blows smoke out of the cut line so the beam is not fighting its own exhaust. Transforms cut quality on wood and acrylic. Does nothing for a fiber marker.

ACMER
$59 $119
The cheap roller-style rotary. Fine for straight-sided tumblers, poor for tapered ones and useless for rings — that is what the chuck rotaries above are for.

SculpFun
$69.99
Bigger working area than the ACMER panel and a flatter surface. Pick on size, not brand.

ACMER
$69 $139
Shows you the bed inside LightBurn so you can drop artwork onto the workpiece visually instead of measuring. A genuine time-saver on one-off jobs. Requires LightBurn — see the software page.

If you have a diode engraver and you are only now discovering that it will not mark steel, an infrared module is a fraction of the cost of a second machine.
SCULPFUN IR20 20W Fiber Laser Module
SculpFun
$899 $1,399
Bolts 1064nm capability onto a gantry machine. Slower than a galvo by a wide margin — a galvo sweeps a mirror, a gantry drags a head — but it marks metal, and it costs less than a third of a dedicated fiber unit.
Check current priceSCULPFUN IR-2 1064nm Infrared Module
SculpFun
$369.99 $499.99
The entry version. Enough for marking anodised aluminium and coated metal; not enough for deep engraving into bare steel.

Answer three questions. I'll point you at the machine that actually fits.
1. What are you marking most?
